Puppy and Kitten Wellness/Vaccine Series:
General guidelines for a puppy guidelines:
6 weeks of age:
- Physical Examination
- Intestinal parasite test
- Initial booster vaccination (DHPP – Distemper, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus, Hepatitis)
- Initial dose of heartworm prevention
9 weeks of age:
- 2nd booster vaccination (DHPP – Distemper, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus, Hepatitis)
- Initial dosage of flea and tick prevention
- Follow-up intestinal parasite test if indicated
- Continue heartworm prevention
12 weeks of age:
- 3rd booster vaccination (DHLPP – Distemper, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis)
- Leptospirosis will be given to at risk animals (consult with your veterinarian)
- Continue heartworm, flea, and tick medication
16 weeks of age:
- Final booster vaccination (DHLPP – Distemper, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis)
- Leptospirosis will be given to at risk animals (consult with your veterinarian)
- Rabies vaccination
- Bordetella vaccination
- Microchip implantation
- Continue heartworm, flea, and tick prevention
- These are recommended MONTHLY for the life of your pet
- Recommended to start routine oral hygiene (brushing, chews, water additives)
5-6 months or greater:
- Ovariohysterectomy (spay) or castration (neuter)
- Some breeds may need to be delayed before these services need to be performed

6-8 weeks of age:

- Initial booster vaccination (Felocell 4 – Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia, Chlamydia)
9-11 weeks of age:
- Booster vaccination (Felocell 4 + Leukemia – Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia, Chlamydia, Leukemia)
- Initial dose of heartworm prevention
- Initial dosage of flea and tick prevention

12-14 weeks of age:
- Final booster vaccination (Felocell 4 + Leukemia – Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia, Chlamydia, Leukemia)

Adult Wellness:
Canine Adult Wellness Programs:
This guideline is used as an overview of preventative care throughout the adult stage (1-7 years of age) of your dogs life. Changes may be recommended depending on your pet’s health condition in order to ensure the optimal health care plan for your pet.
- Yearly physical examination
- In certain breeds, biannual exams are recommended (Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, giant breeds, etc.)
- Screening test for heartworms
- Intestinal parasite test
- Rabies vaccination
- Required yearly based on state law
- Booster vaccination (DHLPP – Distemper, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis)
- Leptospirosis will be given to animals deemed at risk
- The booster vaccine is performed every 3 years after 1 year of age unless environmental conditions pose and increased risk of infection
- Bordetella vaccination
- Regular heartworm prevention
- This can be monthly (Interceptor Plus, Trifexis, Advantage Multi) or every 6 months (ProHeart 6)
- Regular flea and tick control
- This can be monthly (Nexgard, Simparica) or every 3 months (Bravecto)
Potential additions to your Canine Adult Wellness Program may include:
- Complete Blood Count
- Blood Chemistry
- Urinalysis
- Thyroid testing
- Dental prophylaxis
Feline Adult Wellness Program:
This guideline is used as an overview of preventative care throughout the adult stage (1-7 years of age) of your cats life. Changes may be recommended depending on your pet’s health condition in order to ensure the optimal health care plan for your pet.
- Yearly physical examination
- In certain breeds, biannual examinations are recommended (Persians, Main Coon, etc.)
- Rabies vaccination
- This is required yearly via state law
- Booster vaccination (Felocell 4 + Leukemia – Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia, Chlamydia, Leukemia)
- Booster vaccinations are given every 3 years after your cat is 1 year of age unless an increased risk of infection deems necessary
